Thank You!

On May 12th, the After School Academy officially came to a close as our 8th graders, alongside their fellow Higher Achievement Scholars, walked across the stage at the Lincoln Theater. Those scholars were a shining example of the strength and effort of a community. Many of them spoke about the Center staff, parents, teachers and mentors who had had an impact on them, enabling them to make it this far. As they stood proudly and received their diplomas, applause rang out. It is my hope that every scholar is able to see his or her commitment through to take part in this awesome celebration. With the continued support of their families, teachers, mentors and staff, all of our scholars will one day graduate from Higher Achievement and continue their journey.

For an amazing year, I want to say “thank you” to you all. For being open, for working alongside Ms. Moraya, Ms. Amelia, our part-time staff, and me, I want to say THANK YOU! For all of the tough times and conversations, late nights, and personal challenges we have all worked through together, I thank you. I am so thankful everyday to have scholars and families that enjoy coming to Center and interacting with one another. As we move into our summer and beyond, know that our community will continue to grow and strengthen, though it will also change. I look forward to continuing to work with all of you and hope you know how deeply I appreciate your efforts as well as the efforts of the scholars. Thank you again for an unforgettable After School Academy.
