Center 101

This year, I am making more of an effort to educate everyone about Center systems so that families are more connected to what happens at Center. This week’s Center 101 is about “Culture Day.”



The culture principles at Center are spirit, academic excellence, respect, and collaboration; we lovingly have created the acronym SPARC to represent these principles. At Center, scholars receive SPARC chips when they do something that meets or exceeds our culture principles. Every 2 weeks, we have a celebration known as Culture Day from 5:45-6:15 to celebrate scholars and staff who have received shout-outs and scholars who have been recognized as Scholars of the Week. Additionally, during this Culture Day, we have treats for scholars and operate our Culture Store where scholars can use their SPARC chips to “purchase” treats. Lastly, each “Culture Day” the 8th graders are facilitating a fundraiser. Our
