MLK Day of Service

Dear 7th Grade Parents/Guardians,

As you know, it is a tradition to volunteer on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, every year, in honor of MLK’s legacy of service. This year, Higher Achievement is teaming up with City Year to provide a service opportunity for our 7th grade scholars. This is the time of year for 7th grade scholars to start thinking about high school and the high school application process, since admissions committees review 7th and 8th grade report cards when they look at applications. During our MLK Day of Service workshop, 7th grade scholars will learn about the high school placement process from current high school students, and then will work in teams to create posters about high school placement to present at their schools.

The workshop will take place on Saturday, January 19th, from 10 am – 1 pm at Kelly Miller Middle School (301 49th St NE).

Space is limited for this event. Please contact Ms. Christie at clerro@higherachievement.org or 202-375-7736 to reserve your scholar’s spot. Opportunities Matter!!!
